Mountaintop Tree Company was founded in Detroit area in 1975. The founder, Douglas Boor, graduated from the University of Michigan forestry school in 1980. The Mountaintop Tree company combined operations in 1985 with Greenridge Tree Service, which had a 40 year service history. The original Moutaintop Tree Company still operates in Southeastern Michigan.
